Donate Christmas to Those in Need – Dress the Christmas Tree Campaign in Espoo

The five Finnish-speaking parishes of the Espoo Parish Union are participating in the Dress the Christmas Tree campaign in 2024. On this page, you will find instructions on how to donate to the campaign.

Dress the Christmas Tree is a Christmas campaign by the Evangelical Lutheran parishes of Espoo, Helsinki, Kauniainen, and Vantaa. The campaign helps those in need not only during Christmas but also throughout the coming year. Every donation is important.

You can find the opening hours and locations of churches, chapels, and parish facilities by clicking the link for each facility.

Espoo Cathedral Parish

Give a Christmas gift to a child from a low-income family. You can pick up Christmas gift wishes from the tree at Espoo Cathedral from December 1st to 8th or from the tree in the lobby of Kirkonkymppi from December 2nd to 5th. The envelope contains instructions for returning the gift. The target group of the campaign is low-income families with children. The church doors are open Tue-Fri from 10 am to 5 pm, Sat-Sun from 10 am to 6 pm. Kirkonkymppi is open Mon-Thu from 9 am to 2 pm (closed on Independence Day, December 6th).

Espoonlahti Parish

Do you want to support the Christmas celebration of the less fortunate? Pick up a card from the tree in the lobby of Espoonlahti Church or Soukka Chapel from December 1st to 8th. Each card contains a description of the gift recipient. Buy a gift card of your chosen amount and return it by December 15th to the mailbox in the lobby of the church or chapel. The diaconal work will deliver the gift. Thank you for donating Christmas to the less fortunate!

Leppävaara Parish

The Dress the Christmas Tree campaign supports families with children and other low-income individuals. You can pick up an envelope, which contains a description of the gift recipient, from the Christmas tree at Leppävaara Church from December 1st to 8th. The envelope includes detailed instructions. You can buy a gift card of your chosen amount and return it in the same envelope to Leppävaara Church during church opening hours. The diaconal work will deliver the gift to the recipient.

Olari Parish

Donate Christmas to those in need! Assemble a gift bag with four items: a coffee package, chocolate, Christmas cookies, and glögi (and optionally a Christmas card). You may bring gift bags to Chapple, the premise of the Espoo parishes in the shopping center Iso Omena, from December 1st to 8th. The diaconal workers will distribute the bags to those in need.

Tapiola Parish

Would you like to bring joy to someone in need by donating a gift card of your chosen amount for Christmas? Pick up a card from the tree in the church hall of Tapiola Church from December 1st to 8th. The card contains a description of the gift recipient. Buy a gift card of your chosen amount and return it by December 15th to the custodian during church opening hours.
