Spread Christmas Joy by Giving a Gift – Dress the Christmas Tree Campaign in Vantaa 2024

The gifts are delivered by the parishes' deaconry workers. Dress the Christmas Tree is a Christmas campaign organized by the Evangelical Lutheran parishes of Espoo, Helsinki, Kauniainen, and Vantaa.

Hakunila Parish

You can spread Christmas joy by donating a food gift card. Purchase a restricted product gift card with an amount of your choice from local stores and deliver it to the parish office at Hakunila ChurchLinkki avautuu uudessa välilehdessä, Mon-Thu from 10 am to 2 pm, or hand it to the custodian during events.
To ensure your gift arrives in time for Christmas, please submit it by December 19. Thank you for your help, and have a blessed Christmas!

Hämeenkylä Parish

You can donate via MobilePay: 13695. Message: Family’s Christmas.
Support a low-income family's Christmas by donating a gift card. You can submit your chosen gift card to the Hämeenkylä parish officeLinkki avautuu uudessa välilehdessä from Mon-Thu between 9 am and 2 pm until Christmas.

Give a flower as a gift: 5 €. Hämeenkylä Parish will deliver the flower gift to a friend living in the area. A card with your first name will accompany the flower. MobilePay: 13695. Message: Flower/Hkylä.

The Christmas tree will be at Hämeenkylä Church starting from the first Sunday of Advent. You can take a card from the tree for a food donation.

Fundraising permit RA/2020/1560. Valid from December 4, 2020. Vantaa Parish Union. The collected funds are used to finance diaconal assistance activities.

Korso Parish

You can participate in the Dress the Christmas Tree campaign at Korso Parish by donating a flower to an elderly person or a food gift card to someone in need.

The flower can be paid for at the flower shop Puntti between December 1 and December 16.

Food gift cards can be delivered to the parish office. Cards can be purchased, for example, from S- or K-stores. The parish office is open Mon-Fri from 9 am to 2 pm, Merikotkantie 4. Parking is available via Kotkansiipi 1.

Rekola Parish

Through the Dress the Christmas Tree campaign, you can give a food gift card to a low-income family or others in need.
Submit the Christmas gift card by December 5 according to the instructions below or later for post-Christmas support.

  • Purchase a gift card for the amount of your choice from a local store.
  • Place the card in an envelope and mark it "Diaconia."
  • Return the envelope to Rekola ChurchLinkki avautuu uudessa välilehdessä (Kustaantie 22, Door D). You can submit the gift card Mon-Thu from 9 am to 2 pm or call 09 830 6700.

Tikkurila Parish

Donate a Christmas flower campaign: Flowers will be delivered to elderly people living alone in the Vantaa and Kerava welfare area through home care. Buy a Christmas flower between November 11 and December 15 at Tikkurila Prisma (Unikkotie 13) or Kukka-Mia (Talkootie 7).

You can also donate Christmas food and bring joy to a low-income family or an individual through diaconal work. Purchase a food gift card from a store of your choice, specify the amount, and submit the loaded card to Tikkurila Church's service point by December 12. Donations support households in need during Christmas and throughout the year.

Vantaankoski Parish

We are organizing a fundraising campaign from November 4 to December 24. The proceeds will be used for assistance.

Examples of what the assistance may include:

  • Christmas meals for an individual: €25, for a couple: €35, for a family: €50.
  • Assistance for an electricity bill: €35 or €50.
  • Pharmacy voucher for a senior: €50–€100.
  • Ham: €10–€20.
  • Food package assistance for a family for the Christmas break: €50.
  • Food package for a dog: €10 or a cat: €5.
  • Winter clothing for a child: €100.
  • Assistance for baby supplies: €100.

Donate Christmas Food
Purchase a gift card for an amount of your choice (S-, K-, or Lidl gift card). Place the gift card in an envelope and label it "Food Gift." Staff will request a receipt for the donation.

Christmas Trees at Myyrmäki Church, Kivistö Church, and Events
This year as well, traditional Christmas trees can be found in the churches. When attending the Advent service on Sunday, December 1, at 10 am at Myyrmäki Church or at 11 am at Kivistö Church, take a card related to a Christmas food donation from the tree. The Christmas tree will also be at the Christmas market at Martinlaakso Shopping Center on Saturday, November 23, from 10 am to 2 pm.
